Who controls the water level of the lake?
The Bureau of Reclamation controls the water level of the lake. To find out more information about the Bureau of Reclamation go to: http://www.usbr.gov/gp/dkao/index.html
Where do I go to get "real-time" lake levels of Lake Audubon?
If you are interested in seeing "real-time" lake levels, the Bureau of Reclamation has a website: https://www.usbr.gov/gp/hydromet/audl.html
The third bullet on the site is Real-Time Dayfile Values (one value every 15 minutes for the current day of record). Many interested or impacted by lake levels find this site useful. Please note that at any given time the elevation gauges can show significant changes in elevation due to our North Dakota winds pushing water waves higher or lower than the true elevation of the lake.
When do docks and boat lifts need to be in the water and when can they be stored on Corp property?
Docks and boat lifts are to be in the water by May of each year and removed by the end of September of each year. You may store your dock and boat lift on Corp property between October-April of each year. If you are unable to put your dock and/or boat lift in the water between May-September, it must be removed from Corp property.
What are some of my dock requirements?
The following link is a diagram this illustrates some of the requirements for your dock. (Dock Requirements)
What is meant by a transition plate on the dock requirement diagram?
A transition plate is designed to provide a smooth transition between the gangway, dock or floating docks it sits on, eliminating the greater than 1.5” gap in between sections. (Dock Transition Plate)
I want to make changes or improvements to the shoreline, where do I start?
Contact the LACSA President for detailed information, familiarize yourself with the "Lake Management Plan" and the "Permit Application Instructions", fill-out the "Application for Shoreline Use Permit" and email/mail completed application to the LACSA President.
